Helping Hands Thrift Store Reopens with New Merchandise and Sale

By

During the month of April, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s thrift store, Helping Hands, will be hosting a massive 50% off sale. “We’re hoping the community comes out to see our new items,” said Helping Hands store manager Francis Edwards.

“Our sale is a few days in April,” said Edwards. The official dates for the April 2024 Helping Hands 50% off sale will be April 25and 26th. “We do this for the Community. We’d love it if people were to come out and see what we have,” Edwards stated.

In February, Helping Hands temporarily closed its doors in order to upgrade the merchandise sales floor. Currently, two brand-new shoe racks line the walls, showing off the new shoes that have been donated for the Community. The store works to maintain a high standard for all of its inventory, with goods from such top-selling brands as Calvin Klein, Nike, Adidas, Polo Ralph Lauren and many more.

All of the items donated to Helping Hands are inspected for quality and if they do not pass inspection, they do not reach the merchandise floor.

Helping Hands has also upgraded the “free item” table, which is available for all Community members. “We moved the free table indoors due to the warm weather. It’s been great,” said Edwards.

As the spring and summer months approach, Helping Hands has ensured their inventory matches the upcoming seasons. Currently, shoppers can find many low-priced items perfect for warm weather, such as children’s tops, men’s and women’s shirts, pants and jeans, as well as kitchen, bedroom and home items.

“We take pride in working here,” said Edwards. “We inspect every item we get and make sure what we put out is the very best.”

Helping Hands welcomes your donations of gently used items. People can drop off donations during store hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Outside of regular business hours, Helping Hands features three metal donation bins on the west side of the parking lot for easy drop-offs.
