Seventh- and eighth-graders Kael Andrews, Josh Correa, Julian Crowley, Ty King, Noah Lasiloo, Erwin Manuel Jr. and Patrick Shaw Jr. are playing for their second year on the Scottsdale Scorpions basketball team. The traveling youth basketball club, coached by Desmond Beard, has started fundraising so they can participate in a summer tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The team has raised $1,400 from a Super Bowl Squares 50/50 fundraiser and plans on hosting food sales and pursuing other ways to raise money so they can cover the travel expenses.
