Community members lined up with their lawn chairs in hand outside the Accelerated Learning Academy Football Field on July 4 as they waited to attend the patriotic celebration put together by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.
The aroma of sizzling hot dogs filled the air as people entered the gate and spread out onto the field, flocking to a large stage, several inflatable games and a dunk tank to begin the festivities. The games kept people busy while they waited for the 15-minute fireworks show at the end of the evening.
