The fun continues at the Boys & Girls Clubs’ Lehi and Red Mountain branches.

On Nov. 3, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale celebrated a $25,000 donation from Fiesta Sports Foundation to eight club locations, including the Red Mountain and Lehi branches. The grant will go toward creating and maintaining classes and opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) makerspace programming.

The presentation was also held to showcase the all-new Fiesta Sports Foundation makerspace signage, which is now featured throughout the Club branches.

Laser engraving, robotics programming, circuit work and 3D pen design are just some of the makerspace programs and activities that are available at the branches and will soon undergo upgrades and improvements.

“At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, we believe every young person deserves the chance to imagine, create and explore—and our STEAM programming helps them do just that,” said Elizabeth Muncal, chief development officer.

She added, “With support from partners like Fiesta Sports Foundation, 6,000 Arizona youth are gaining hands-on experiences that spark curiosity, confidence and problem-solving skills.”

Tori Paukgana, SRPMIC Youth Services director, and Brian Yazzie, SRPMIC Youth Services assistant director, were in attendance during the check presentation held at the Lehi branch.

Additionally, families and children were in for a treat as Spirit, the Fiesta Bowl mascot, made an appearance during the check presentation.

The Lehi branch is located at 1231 E. Oak St. in Mesa. The Red Mountain branch is located inside of the Ske:g Himdag Ki at 11725 E. Indian School Road in Scottsdale. Those interested in what the clubs have to offer can call the main line at (480) 344-5520.
