The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s Recreational Services held its annual Valentine’s Classic Youth Basketball Tournament on February 14 and 15 at the Salt River Pi-Copa Gym and Way of Life Facility. Youth played in one of three divisions: K through second grade, third and fourth grade, and fifth and sixth grade. 

In the Kindergarten through second grade division, Lil Rez Runners came in first place, taking the championship title. Coming in second was Shawa Hoopers, and at third was KWB. 

In the third and fourth grade division, Carmen’s Squad took home the championship title. The San Carlos Thunderhawks came in second, and third place went to Str8-ballin. 

In the fifth and sixth grade division, the championship title went to the San Carlos Thunderhawks. The All-Stars came in second and SR Visak came in third.
