The first year of the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick Baseball Academy has been extended from the fall season through this summer, with the July Summer Camp meeting July 12-16 and the Night Camp July 30-31 from 6 to 9 p.m. each day.

Salt River Fields Director of Marketing Chris Bonnell said that the Baseball Academy started last fall as a way to develop young baseball players and utilize the facility.

“We’re learning a lot about the demand for youth baseball instruction and are prepared to expand into this fall and spring with a lot more camps and clinics,” said Bonnell. “We’ve had numerous guest instructors, including current and former minor league players and coaches, and we’re working on having some special major league guest instructors and player appearances.”

The July Night Camp is open to the first 75 participants, and last month’s camp sold out fairly quickly. Bonnell recommends signing up quickly so that a player’s spot is secured. Head to www.saltriverfields.com/srfbaseballacademy for more information.
